‘A Walk with Bo’ consists of 120 screen-printed squares and is 250 x 50cm overall. The print follows the journey of a friend and I hauling a 90kg tree stump over a stretch of land. The screenprints have been reproduced from some initial prints, which I took directly from the tree stump.
After making the print, I organised a subsequent walking workshop, using the remaining 150 paper squares as prompt cards. This involved a guided walk led by me, designed to help participants appreciate and reflect on their surroundings. The aim was to encourage walkers to notice both the significance of a location and their journey within it. By treating the walk like a meditation rather than a simple trip from a to b, I encouraged people to approach the act of walking as a more mindful activity.
